Underwater Historical Explorations - The Marauder Story

IMM Boat Lifts, Inc. - based in Ft. Myers, Florida.
IMM Boat LiftsIMM Boat Lifts is a company who at no cost designed and fabricated a Davit (hoist) for our Work Boat which enabled us to pick the Prop and Nose Landing gear. This work and piece of equipment probably would of cost us $10,000- $15,000. George Becker is the President and did most of the work himself. He personally did all of the design and layout work and his welders and fitters did all of the fabrication. He stated that he did this for us because he believed in what we were doing on behalf of the MIA crewmembers.

Special Thanks to “Fiberglass” Bob Gutierrez
“Fiberglass” Bob Gutierrez was one of the original divers to work on the B-26 Marauder with Capt. Tim Wicburg in the early ‘90s. He worked with Capt. Tim on the salvage of B-26 Marauder once it was discovered by Capt. Tim and throughout the 90s. Working off the “Lucky Lady” they recovered four of the 50 Caliber machine guns among many other artifacts. In 1993 Bob worked with Capt. Tim and Mark Appleby, exhibit designer for the Fort Myers Historical Museum, to display the guns at the Museum.

Bob’s previous participation made our expeditions possible and his continuing involvement enhances our knowledge of the site. Many thanks to "Fiberglass" Bob Guitierrez!

Bob is currently a sales representative at The Boat Place in Ft. Myers, Florida. You can contact Bob at boatbob1@embarqmail.com.
